Wood Shavings for your composting toilet. These shavings are fine and dry for absorbtion of excess liquids in the toilet.

The wood is untreated macrocarpa or similar suitable species.

Wood shaving are not the only option for your composting toilet. Any similar carbon based material will do.

Other options include:

• forest litter
• untreated sawdust (semi broken down is best)
• dry leaves
• shredded paper
• soil

Forest litter is very effective as it contains the microorganisms and fungi to begin the composting process. It can often be sourced from your own home, local park or forested area. In the event of an emergency, it is important to know that you can get this locally.

Each toilet comes with a bag of sawdust for approximately 1 weeks use.
